Roger
You can have as many themes installed as you want on your Drupal site, just place them in the sites->all->themes folder.
Then navigate in your Drupal admin page to Site Configuration->Administration Theme and set that to Garland (or whatever theme you want). Then whenever you change your site theme to something else, it won't affect your administration theme.
If you ever change your theme and have trouble getting back to the admin page, just type in your site url and add /user or /q=user at the end and it should take you back to the admin page.

Hope this helps

Don't know if this is the right forum

Is there a way to run 2 themes simultaneously in Drupal on the one PC.

I would like to keep the Drupal theme for Administration and Site Building and set up another theme on my PC which will be eventually downloaded to the hosting site.

The reason I ask is that I started a new theme and accidentally switched off the administration and site building menu options and could not go back, so I had to delete the database and reinstall Drupal.

We built the web pages and have them live on a purpose built CMS but now need to migrate the page designs and database to Drupal CMS.

I'm using Linux Fedora 11 on a PC with apache, mysql and php.

Hello,
New to Drupal. New to blogs .
Am attempting to build the above site that will allow users to contact their representatives in Congress in a quick and efficient manner w/ comments.
It will amount to 5 pages:
1 - news feed w/ discussion forum
2 - message field and submit button. Scripting and talking points available on various issues
3 - Listing of Congressional bills in session and their status
4 - Searchable archives
5 - Petitions for breaking issues presented by other sites

This will be a major task for me and I'll be looking for help from interested techs.
Anybody out there interested please contact me.
Best regards.
